Is it even worth getting an amplifier for a headset (not headphones), or do they not offer the same quality? I do a little bit of everything play games, watch movies, listen to a lot of music - so I want good sound.Ĭould anyone shed some light on all this? I'm not looking for a super amplifier, just something that lets me use my headset to its full potential and have very clear sound and good base at the same time, because right now it's either or. I don't care too much about my microphone quality, it should be good enough as it is I just want to be able to use it while having the amplifier plugged in. Can I use an amplifier while also being able to use the microphone since I plug my headset into the amplifier. I know there are internal sound cards and external sound cards (these are the amplifiers, right?), but how would that work with a headset? The amplifier is only for the outgoing sound, not for recording sounds through the microphone. Does a higher ohm number mean that the headset can provide better quality, thus requiring more power, or can a 32 ohm headset pump out the same quality as a 150 ohm headset? I read that most headsets have an impedance of 32 ohm, and you need to be able to provide that amount of power for the headset to reach its full potential (or something like that). I have a few questions regarding all this! Another person said that the headset required 150 ohm (it says 50 in the specs though, maybe a typo) to reach its full potential, so he needed an amplifier. I read some of the reviews, and a few people complained about the bass, or the lack thereof, rather.
